Past Club Events
Visit to Century College Fab Lab! The Digital Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab), located on Century College's East campus, is a "hi-tech thinkers" workshop for inventors and people who have a need to design, prototype and build things. On October 10, the club organized an event to see the lab and interact with the professors and students there. It was a very enjoyable visit!
Summer, 2016 Happy Hour!
MIT alumni enjoyed our summer Happy Hour on August 26th, 2016 at CoV Wayzata. Here are some snaps from the event.
2016 MIT Summer Send-Off Picnic
The MIT club of Minnesota welcomed members of the MIT Class of 2020 while enjoying picnic-style food under an impressive picnic gazebo in a beautiful outdoor lake setting in Roseland Park, Edina on Saturday June 18th, 2016.
Presentation on Mobile Security
John Carney was on WCCO last night, defining "The Cloud" for millions of area viewers. John has been a long time member of our Club's Board of Directors, including multiple stints as President. John also served on the Board of the Alumni Association. He know has the dream job of cracking open smart phones, tablets and social media sites, always in support of finding the truth. You can learn more about John at this website.
THANK YOU to all our volunteers who helped out at FB4K on Nov. 8th.
Pictured above are a small portion of the bikes we helped clean up and repair, and Brent Backhaus, Kevin Crystal, and Troy Ziegler from the MIT Club and Tim O'Keefe with FB4K. Several other MIT Club volunteers also helped out, but missed the photo-op. The good folks at FB4K still need a lot of help, so please stop by either of their locations any afternoon or weekend. If you can hold a wet rag, you'll be worth your weight in gold. If you can true up a 26" wheel with a spoke wrench, that's good too.
LUV Ice Cream
Pictured below is our full house event featuring LUV Ice Cream, founded by alum Ilya and Susanna Gorodisher. Their presentation was excellent, and the tastes of ice cream, nice cream and chocolates were beyond yummy. Thanks to the Gorodishers, and to everyone who came to the Linden Hills Co-Op for the afternoon of Nov. 9.
This website is one way we try to connect with you as alums, giving you the overview of all the activities that band us together and keep that MIT connection alive. We’re also using email, social networking, and old-fashioned face-to-face meetings over a cold beverage! Whether high-tech or old school, our network works to connect with you!
